Don’t Pay a Lot for Debt Management Help
As a lender, my job is to help borrowers. This includes spreading the word about legitimate, inexpensive places consumers can turn for outside help when they need it.
For Financial Literacy Month, the American Financial Services Association Education Foundation (AFSAEF) just released information on debt management services. As AFSAEF points out, people need to know that getting help shouldn’t cost a lot. It’s free to talk to your creditors, and non-profit credit counseling services only charge nominal fees. Many debt settlement companies, on the other hand, charge high upfront fees.
